Islamabad, November 23, 2023_The second portfolio review meeting of the year has been held today at the Economic Affairs Division of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Pakistan. 5 On-budget concessional soft loans programmes, funded by the Italian Government, have been discussed in detail, in order to speed up administrative proceedings and strengthen implementation modalities.
EAD Joint Secretary Mr. Mr. Muhammad Yahya appreciated Italian commitment to Pakistan and offered its Division’s full support to handle these 5 relevant programs.

ETI – Economic Transformation Initiative: 20,5 million euro programme for providing infrastructural support, capacity building and technical assistance to the stakeholders along with the value chain of key agricultural products to the benefit of rural communities of Gilgit Baltistan

Citizen Damaged Compensation Programme (CDCP-II): social protection and strengthened resilient economy for communities affected by 2010 and 2022 floods, 57.75 million euro budget

Professional Capacity Building and Extension in Agriculture – Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET): capacity building for farmers and entrepreneurs and olive oil production enhancement in Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan Provinces with a 20 million euro budget

Command Area of Development Works of Kaitu Weir Irrigation & Power Project of Kurram Tangi Dam Project: 25.27 million euro budget for KP Province to improve socioeconomic conditions of poor and disaster riddled population through the provision of social services, command level irrigated agriculture and livestock.

Establishment of Heritage Field Schools (HFS): establishment of heritage field schools and research labs to increase job opportunities and support the Directorate of Archaeology & Museums (DOAM)/ Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Province to better manage local cultural heritage and to foster tourism.
