AICS supports maternal-child health in Baluchistan

April 4th 2023_A new contribution to the social protection programme BISP – Benazir Income Support Programme has been agreed between AICS Islamabad and EAD – Economic Affairs Division at the Ministry of Economics today. Thanks to remaining amounts of PIDSA – Pakistan Italy Debt Swap Agreement (500.000.000 Rupees – 1.5 MLN EUR), activities in favor of marginalized communities in Baluchistan will be carried out.

Nahsonuma – BISP project aims at enhancing food security for 16.000 newborn in 3 districts of the Region, providing health visits and vaccinations in those areas severely affected by 2022 floods, with the goal of containing malnutrition and growing problems in the first 3 years of children. Pregnant and breastfeeding women are included in the targets as well, in order to prevent premature and risky pregnancies, blood disorders and diseases pre and post-delivery.
