Islamabad, May 29, 2024_A delegation from the Italian Cooperation, led by AICS Islamabad Head of Office Mr. Francesco Zatta, accomplished a support and monitoring mission in the framework of the programme “ETI – Economic Transformation Initiative”, implemented in partnership with Pakistan Government and IFAD – International Fund for Agriculture. The Italian Government contributes to the programme with a 20,5 million euro soft loan.
ETI is currently operating in all Gilgit-Baltistan’s districts where rural activities are suffering due to poor economic infrastructures and low support to agro-food value chains. The italian contribution aims at enhancing services and rural development in the area.
During the mission, different meetings have been arranged with local authorities, governmental departments and implementing partners. In all these meetings, AICS delegation collected very positive feedbacks about ETI programme, the most important development initiative in Gilgit-Baltistan.
